Fowlguard Connect

For the people connecting in.

One app per device. Press Connect, sign in when your browser opens, and choose your FGMesh if you are asked.

Windows
  1. Run the installer.
  2. Approve the Windows prompt so it can install its background service.
  3. Fowlguard Connect starts itself. It is also in the Start menu and on the desktop.

  1. Double-click the package.
  2. Follow the installer. It asks for your password: it installs a background service.
  3. Open Fowlguard Connect from Applications.

  1. Install the package: sudo apt install ./<package>.deb
  2. The background service starts on its own.
  3. On GNOME, install the AppIndicator extension first or the tray icon will not appear.

Downloads are served from your console's Downloads page, with a one-click install command for each platform.

One-click install

Paste one command. It does the rest.

Under Install Steps in the console, each platform carries a single command. Paste it into a terminal on the machine you are installing on: it downloads the package, installs it, and starts the service.

  • It picks the right build for the machine it runs on, not the browser you generated it in.
  • It installs as administrator, and asks for elevation or your password itself.
  • The command is the credential: its links work once and expire in 30 minutes.

  • No second sign-in: it uses your Fowlguard Connect account.
  • Sessions open only while Connect is connected.
  • Signing out of Connect signs Remote out too.
